Job Title: SCADA Applications Engineer
Duration: 1 year contract with perm opportunities
Rate: $6w5-$75/hr dependng on experience
Location: Fully remote or onsite in Juno Beach, FL - 50% travel required
Purpose:
Work on behalf of one of the world's largest renewable energy developer and builders as SCADA engineer developing and commissioning software and SCADA to control renewable power plants.
Reports To:
Sr. SCADA Commissioning Manager
Job Description:
Responsible for integration, programming, commissioning, and testing of power plant SCADA systems and RTU. Duties include working with project requirements and specifications to integrate renewable power plant in SCADA to controls power generation onto the utility grid.This is a non-managerial position. Non-managerial.
Job Responsibilities:
Fulfill requirements as listed in the job description.
Achieve projects deadlines pertaining to the scope of the SCADA system.
Works collaboratively with in-house resources and sub suppliers in various disciplines to determine project priorities, achieve milestones and actions, schedule and work plans to meet milestones.
Plans and schedules work and vendors to achieve portfolio deliverables.
Design, integrate, program, commission and test power plant controller and SCADA for Photovoltaic and Energy Store System
Reviews and comments on SCADA engineering design.
Reporting daily, weekly, and monthly on progress to management
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Preferred Background:
Bachelor or Equivalent degree in Engineering or Automation System with experience or related education with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA). Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience or related education in programming and commissioning of SCADA.
Preferred Skillsets or Related Education:
Commissioning and integration of SCADA systems
Control system architecture and PLC programs
Knowledge of Ignition, OPC protocol and SCADA historian.
Knowledge of automation protocols (Modbus, DNP3, CAN, OPC, EtherNet/IP, others)
RTU to RTU interface and Programming
Schedule and planning understanding
Electrical and Communications plan-set understanding
Strong analytical skills, problem-solving
Knowledge of AC and DC circuits and troubleshooting ability.
Knowledge of Utility Meters, Substation RTAC, Protection Relays
Knowledge managed switches, Hirschman's, MOXA, Cisco, etc.
Knowledge of Networking, Cyber Security and Firewalls
Knowledge of renewable SCADA and control systems.
0-10 volt and 4-20 mA loop knowledge and troubleshooting.
Ability to understand SCADA and communication schematics and drawings.
Project Management experience handling multiple consultants, vendors and EPCs.
Third party firm management
Physical Requirements / Working Environment
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds frequently on a daily basis.
Standing on feet for extended periods of time.
Ability to work at desk position in front of a computer monitor for extensive periods of time.
Bending, stooping, and twisting frequently to move inventory and other items.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle for purposes of commuting between 2 working locations.
