Job Description:
Role: Security Engineer
Duration: 12 month contract
Location: Hybrid - 2 days/week onsite in Greater Lansing, MI area
Job Summary: Provide guidance in all areas of information security to align and establish information security strategy with business requirements.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Preferred experience in Cloud Security, Automation, Scripting, and Power BI.
- Preferred experience with Imperva DAM for Database Security and Monitoring.
- Identify functionality requirements and perform implementation and security administration of tools (e.g., Firewall Configuration, Content Filtering, SIEM, vulnerability management, web application firewall).
- Identify potential risk items and remediate vulnerabilities in the environment.
- Support day-to-day monitoring of logs and alerts from firewalls, log management, intrusion detection systems, and content filtering controls.
- Perform forensic analysis and investigation of log alerts and malware.
- Provide security analysis and guidance to information security analysts and administrator team members.
- Perform other related duties as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field.
- Seven years of experience in information security or system administration.
- CISSP certification preferred but not required.
- Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Required skills:
- Network security engineering, configuration, and support.
- Strong knowledge of information security principles and practices.
- Experience with intrusion detection systems, including installation, configuration, monitoring, and response.
- Familiarity with security protocols and standards.
- Understanding of software and security architectures.
- Proficiency in risk management, control techniques, and frameworks.
- Planning and project management skills.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and laws.
- Ability to lead teams and collect and analyze complex data.
- Proficiency with data extraction and analysis tools.
- Strong active listening skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
