The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in evaluating automated testing solutions and their integration with development pipelines. This role requires a strong understanding of code quality, standards, and best practices in automated test scripts.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Apex is seeking a highly skilled Senior Consultant with strong consultative skills to serve as a Senior QA Automation Engineer in the US & Canada practice within Apex Systems' Solutions Delivery Organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in evaluating automated testing solutions and their integration with development pipelines. This role requires a strong understanding of code quality, standards, and best practices in automated test scripts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct a comprehensive review of existing automated testing solutions and their integration with the development pipeline.
- Assess the code quality and standards of automated test scripts, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather insights and develop a detailed analysis report.
- Identify gaps or inefficiencies in current automated testing practices and recommend improvements.
- Develop a comprehensive QA/QE Blueprint that outlines current practices and suggests improvements.
- Create a Process Improvement Plan that addresses enhancements in people (resourcing), processes, and tooling.
- Identify "quick wins"-immediate, impactful improvements that can be implemented with minimal effort to build momentum.
- Provide ongoing updates, KPIs, and progress summaries to maintain transparency and track progress.
- Build strong internal and external customer relationships.
- Demonstrate expert-level technical knowledge and implementation skills. Serve as a subject matter expert. Build trust and respect among internal and external stakeholders and model collaborative teamwork.
- Demonstrate a passion for quality and process improvement.
- Demonstrate professional-level consulting skills, leadership skills, and communication/presentation skills. Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to acquire skills to meet business needs.
- Participate in supporting sales pursuits by providing technical guidance, estimates, scoping and other pre-sales activities. JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 5 years of hands-on experience in QA automation engineering, with a strong background in developing and implementing automated test strategies utilizing UFT One and Tricentis Tosca
- Excellent understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address issues proactively
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
- Experience with test automation tools like Selenium, Appium, or similar.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong Knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices.
- Positive relationship builder, able to navigate through complex situations to ensure the most robust and pragmatic solution.
- BA/BS preferred in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields (applicable education and experience may be substituted)
