Apex Systems has an opening for a Senior Project Manager role with a client. This is a 3-year contract role that can sit in the vicinity of our clients Birmingham AL or Atlanta GA office.
This PM will lead and oversee complex application and / or infrastructure projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large-scale projects, ensuring strict adherence to scope, timeline, and budget. Candidates should be comfortable in both Waterfall & Agile methodologies; however majority of project will follow waterfall principles.
Title : Sr. IT PM
Duration : 3-year contract
Location : Atlanta, GA or Birmingham, AL.
The role is primarily remote, however- Candidates should be willing to go onsite to their local market office as needed.

Responsibilities :
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones.
Track project milestones and deliverables.
Manage project financials.
Track and navigate risk and issues.
Coordinate and manage the project team and third-party contractors or consultants.
Coordinating cross-functional teams, maintaining clear communication with stakeholders, and facilitating smooth transitions from development to support phases.
Skills & Experience :
8 years of IT project Management experience- preferably exposed to both Application Development and Infrastructure Projects.
PMP certification is preferred, but not required.
Proficiency in methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall to effectively plan, execute, and close projects.
Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate cross-functional teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to ensure clear and consistent stakeholder communication.
Ability to facilitate meetings, presentations, and status updates.
Expertise in managing project scope, timelines, and budgets to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Ability to handle scope control and change management effectively.
Proficiency in identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks.
Ability to develop contingency plans and manage issues as they arise.
Strong skills in managing relationships with stakeholders, including clients, team members, and executives.
Ability to understand and address stakeholder needs and expectations.
A solid understanding of the technical aspects of application and infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with relevant tools and technologies used in the industry.
