Senior Systems Engineer
Apex Systems is hiring for a Senior Systems Engineer with a large government client in Elkridge, MD!
Position requires a currently active, Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) Security Clearance.
Location: 100% on-site in Elkridge, MD
Schedule: M-F, Core Business Hours
Position Overview:
- Performs design and performance improvement of organization and Information Technology operations and business objectives.
- Collects, analyzes and interprets data in one or more specialties.
- Formulates and defines system scope and objectives, develops or modifies processes to solve complex problems for computer systems and business and electronic interfaces to achieve desired results through the use of innovative technologies.
- Develops and applies advanced engineering and design methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced system requirements, hardware/software interfaces and applications and solutions.
- Translates customer requirements into formal agreements and plans to culminate in customer acceptance or results.
- Execute a wide range of process activities beginning with the request for proposal through development, test and final delivery.
- Candidate will manage and oversee the customer’s system infrastructure consisting of server, storage, and application platforms.
- The customer is currently utilizing VMware vsphere within the environment on old unsupported systems.
- The Engineer will be expected to conduct research and gap analysis to provide recommendations for upgrades, consolidation, and/or replacement hardware or software within the environment to enhance efficiencies.
Requirements:
- Currently active, Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance, with ability to obtain and maintain a CI Poly
- 8 years of related experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT-related field
