Job Description:
Apex Systems is seeking a Software Functional Safety Engineer to join our client. This is starting out as a 6 month contract. It will be a hybrid role, onsite in Farmington Hills, MI.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and collaborate in preparing Development Interface Agreement (DIA) documents in discussion with internal and external team / customer.
- Ensure safety plan activities proceed according to project milestones.
- Automotive Functional Safety product knowledge : ADAS, Cockpit Domain Controllers, Clusters.
- Perform and conduct safety analysis and reviews for HARA, FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, etc.
- Understanding the safety manual provided by the external vendors for deriving the requirements with respect to the assumed AoU's.
- Based on the understanding of safety manuals consume and provide guidance to the team for the implementation
- Collaborate and provide guidance to systems, hardware, and software teams in implementing functional safety requirements and processes.
- Plan and support safety validation activities, such as fault injection testing.
- Analyze and review functional safety requirements, concepts, and test results from vendor-supplied systems
- Perform Software Tool development and qualification as per ISO26262.
- Organizing and managing the meetings required for the project development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- 5 years' experience in functional safety design and analysis
- Familiarity and understanding of ISO26262
- Experience with safety analysis and creation of DFA, DFMEA, FMEDA, FTA HARA
