Apex Systems has an immediate opening for a Sr. Scrum Master with an enterprise client. This is a contract to hire opportunity that can sit in either Tampa, FL or Dallas, TX and will require 3 days of in office/onsite work in the local office.
This Senior Scrum Master will work with engineering and cloud services teams in fostering a collaborative agile environment and driving successful project delivery. The Scrum Master will work closely with cross-functional teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders to ensure the efficient operation of Agile frameworks while emphasizing continuous improvement in cloud delivery.
Location: Tampa, FL or Dallas, TX
- Onsite 3x per week in either location & 2 days WFH.

Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews to ensure team alignment and effective communication.
- Remove impediments and blockers that hinder team productivity and delivery.
- Act as a servant leader and coach for the Cloud team, supporting their Agile journey and promoting self-organization.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to maintain a clear and prioritized product backlog, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Track and report key performance metrics (e.g., velocity, burndown charts) to monitor team progress and performance.
- Foster an environment of continuous improvement by encouraging team reflection and iteration on processes.
- Advocate for Agile best practices and principles across the organization, ensuring alignment with the team's goals.
- Facilitate communication and coordination with external teams, stakeholders, and dependencies.
- Encourage and implement a culture of innovation and adaptability within the Cloud Services team.
Required Qualifications:
- 7 years of Scrum Master Experience supporting enterprise cloud or application development teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Familiarity with cloud service platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and an understanding of cloud-related concepts. Azure Preferred.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP, or equivalent Agile certification.
- Deep understanding of Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and practices.
- Experience in project management, risk management, and team coaching.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Agile tools like JIRA, Confluence, or equivalent.
