Job Description: Infrastructure Install Technician
Pay Rate: $19-22/hr.
Location: South Bend, IN
Overview: Seeking an Install Technician to join our Infrastructure team. This team is responsible for the day-to-day installation of servers and network equipment, structured cabling, project work, and capacity management. The technician will be involved in the installation of structured cabling, management of infrastructure inventory levels, and physical installation of network and server racks/devices.

Job Description: Infrastructure Install Technician
Pay Rate: $19-22/hr.
Location: South Bend, IN
Overview: Seeking an Install Technician to join our Infrastructure team. This team is responsible for the day-to-day installation of servers and network equipment, structured cabling, project work, and capacity management. The technician will be involved in the installation of structured cabling, management of infrastructure inventory levels, and physical installation of network and server racks/devices.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with cable vendors to install, inspect, and troubleshoot cabling.
- Install and maintain copper and fiber cable infrastructure.
- Test and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, including patch panels and patch cords.
- Ensure Data Center and vendor installations comply with all installation practices.
- Report current status via ticketing system, status reports, email, and Slack.
- Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects.
- Maintain accurate records and document problems and processes to successfully draft and execute changes within data centers.
- Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain site cleanliness.
- Work with a partner to move integrated enterprise equipment from loading docks into planned positions.
- Manage, check, and coordinate all materials to be delivered to the site daily.
- Carry a cell phone for communication, information, and emergencies.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41 pounds or more.
- Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in after-hours support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Technical aptitude with a good understanding of computers, servers, switches, and various networking devices from both a hardware and software perspective.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn and apply new technology.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to deal effectively with people in a wide variety of situations.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability.
