Job Title: Jr Traffic Engineer
Location: Remote (Preference for PST time zone)
Hours are PST
Pay: $55,000
Direct hire with client
Responsibilities/Authority:
The Junior Traffic Engineer will possess strong technical and organizational skills. This
individual has multiple responsibilities from design through implementation of Systems, as well as to aid in the support/commission of all systems after
installation, provide service support, and support engineering and operations services and
solutions to the customer.
Work Tasks:
- Under direction of a project manager or direct supervisor, support the execution of project
milestones and/or software releases under a larger program/contract.
- Recognize and follow up on opportunities for potential software improvements requested
by customers.
- Support development of Requirements documents, Design documents, and training
documents for customer delivery.
- Provide technical support on traffic engineering and operations services for customers as needed on contracts.
- Troubleshooting customer's systems to isolate & repair technical issues
- Provide customer support via remote desktop, ticketing system, and/or telephone
- Perform hardware and software upgrades as needed on signal controllers
- Conduct customer training on use of products/systems
- Assist in hardware and software tests of existing and new development projects
- Assist content manager in development of technical content for manuals, guides, etc.
- Assist sales in completing technical requirements matrices for proposal response

Experience:
- Exceptional attention to detail, as well as the ability to see the bigger picture
- Familiarity with Windows operating system and associated programs
- Familiarity with Traffic Signal cabinets and controllers
- Familiarity with Intelight controller hardware
- Ability to multitask and provide direction to other team members
- Demonstrated Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong demonstrated organization skills
- Strong communication skills, written and oral familiarity with Windows operating
system and associated programs
Qualifications:
- Signals/ATMS Product experience preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience traffic engineering and operations is required
- EIT Certification is preferred with ability to obtain within 1st year of hire required
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Civil, Transportation, or Electrical) or Computer
Science or equivalent work experience in lieu of formal education/degree.
Physical and/or Cognitive Capabilities Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such a s a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- Ability to communicate and/or present business-related information. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
