The Blueprint (Role Profile)
The role of Sales Manager, NAM Channel serves as an instrumental part of our North American Weller sales team. This role will report directly to the Director of North American Sales and have responsibility for actively managing and analyzing distribution sales in North America. This is a hybrid position with the winning candidate working remotely and in the Apex NC, office to ensure team continuity and facilitate communication within the Weller sales team. The candidate will work closely with our hand tool sales team, marketing, operations, customer service, and various other support teams. The Distribution Manager will be directly responsible for increasing sales through our distribution network by engaging with our distributors daily and conducting face-to-face meetings regularly to build strong relationships with our distributors and manufacturer sales representatives. This role is about creating an environment for sales success, anticipating customer needs, reviewing competitive offerings and increasing market share, with a particular focus on proactively adjusting distributor sales to leverage opportunities in a highly-competitive dynamic industry.

The Build (Responsibilities)
- Identify growth opportunities, assess distributor needs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customized solutions that drive revenue and strengthens distributor relationships.
- Taking ownership of our distribution network by developing and implementing tailored management plans.
- Proactively communicate and understand the distributor’s needs to identify appropriate solutions and enhance our value proposition
- Lead recruitment efforts to identify and onboard new distributors to align with unique regional market requirements
- Obtain and maintain comprehensive product knowledge to effectively communicate our offerings to our distributor network
- Maintain knowledge of key competitors, their products, pricing, and strategies as they relate to our Weller Professional products.
- Implement sales performance targets to evaluate the effectiveness of each distributor and refocus efforts to overcome shortfalls
- Facilitate communication channels between distributors and manufacturer sales representatives to ensure alignment with Weller sales strategies.
- Create distributor forecasts by category for ongoing business, new business, and potential opportunities to ensure product availability.
- Report to the Weller sales team about any activity within the territory via user feedback, trends, competitive actions and make recommendations to increase distribution sales.
- Participate as needed in national sales meetings, trade shows and distributor business review meetings.
- BS in Business or Marketing or a related field and at least 5 years of distribution management experience.
- Prior experience in industrial and/or manufacturing outside sales, with an understanding of electronics OEM, EMS or industrial markets is preferred.
- Analytical and technical aptitude, with the ability to effectively engage in technical discussions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to spend 50% of the time visiting distributors with a focus on identifying new opportunities and forging relationships.

Salary : $76,000 - $114,000
