The Blueprint (Role Profile)
The Quality Engineer works collaboratively with leadership, quality, operations, customer service, outside vendors, and other applicable parties to drive and sustain Apex Tool Group's Campbell Chain quality management system including maintain ISO-9001 certification. This individual leads the corrective action initiatives and quality improvement.

The Blueprint (Role Profile)
The Quality Engineer works collaboratively with leadership, quality, operations, customer service, outside vendors, and other applicable parties to drive and sustain Apex Tool Group's Campbell Chain quality management system including maintain ISO-9001 certification. This individual leads the corrective action initiatives and quality improvement.
The Build (Responsibilities)
- Manage the quality management system, ensuring policy implementation and maintenance and reporting to plant leadership.
- Lead corrective action processes to focus on significant improvement opportunities and ensure timeliness, implementation, and effectiveness.
- Communicate with customers, leadership, sales, marketing, and customer services to resolve quality complaints and returned goods issues.
- Facilitate the development of procedures and instructions to meet ISO-9001 standards and business objectives to improve products and processes standardization; minimize errors, delays, and costs; and prevent defects at all stages of the manufacturing process.
- Create and maintain quality information systems and surveys to track and report key quality KPI's to support maintenance of ISO-9001 standards and business objectives. Analyzes data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects.
- Review internal and external quality standards to ensure manufactured products meet and exceed company, ISO-9001, government, and customer expectations.
- Lead projects to improve and maintain the quality management system, driving quality standards for in-process and finished goods products and materials.
- Maintain quality system documentation, notifying management and associates of issues and revisions affecting them and maintaining record-keeping compliance.
- Provide training and guidance to associates at all levels.
- Serve as ISO-9001 lead auditor, managing the internal quality audit function to balance compliance needs with value-added activities. Maintain audit records including schedules, checklists, reports, corrective action requests, and auditor qualifications.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field.
- 3 to 5 years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience with ISO-9001 quality management system operations to include registration and compliance.
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations and the ability to quickly learn the facility's production processes.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across teams and functions.
- Highly proficient in computer technology, including Microsoft 365 applications and ERP systems.
- Previous SAP experience.
- Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred.
- Prior experience in metal forming/welding or steel finishing processes.
