Job Description :
The Conversation with Al McFarlane, a McFarlane Media Interests, Inc. division, has an opening for an experienced and robust digital broadcast producer to lead a daily live-stream broadcast. This is a contractor position with room for growth.
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who can combine excellent news judgment, creative writing skills, and a strong knowledge of Live Streaming platforms. We currently use StreamYard, but we are open to other media with expanded capabilities.
Wed love someone connected to the news cycle, local and national topics, and pop culture, and have interests beyond politics. This position can be done remotely.
Weekly Commitment - 15-20 hours per week (MUST BE AVAILABLE MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 12 PM TO 2 : 30 PM CST FOR THE LIVE STREAM SHOW)
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the team to cultivate content, construct and plan daily live stream broadcasts
- Update and maintain ongoing Show Calendar with guest information, story choices, available media, web links, segment timings, etc.
- Create daily show thumbnails, social media posts from our template(s) in Canva
- Schedule daily StreamYard broadcast live streams
- Handle last-minute changes to broadcasts, guests, media content, etc.
- Run / Produce daily Live Streams from 1-2 CST
- Interface with local radio station on Tuesday for simulcast
- Complete post-show paperwork including updating the Production document with episode details, show links, etc.
- Upload program and order transcriptions for daily broadcasts
- Lead Post-Show production meetings to review / plan upcoming show(s)
- Ability to read, hear, and speak clearly and follow both oral and written directions in English.
- Ability to think critically and quickly and to articulate information in a clear, concise manner to others.
- Social Media : Posting Show Clips, Show Promos, etc.
- Help to maintain a professional look and feel of the daily live stream broadcast
- Familiarity with Canva, StreamYard, Google Docs, Box and Video Editing Software
