JOB SUMMARY
The Delivery Specialist will safely deliver Company products to customer sites and perform on-site, routine services, such as transferring chemicals and making minor repairs on Company products, programs and services. The Delivery Specialist will also serve the important role of being the face of the Company to the customer and will be responsible for meeting with customers at each delivery and service visit to build a strong business relationship, answer customers' questions, and provide recommendations regarding their water treatment systems and applications.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project professional image of Company through positive attitude and punctual, reliable deliveries and service visits at customer sites
- Follow all legal safety regulations, as well as procedures set forth by both Company and customers
- Efficiently manage loading time to ensure timely departure from the warehouse, meeting daily operational goals and management's target timelines
- Safely deliver product to customer sites (typically farm fields and ranches)
- Check water treatment systems to make sure they are operating properly and perform minor maintenance and repairs as needed, documenting findings in detailed reports
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge in order to provide sound water treatment recommendations to customers, as required
- Perform general warehouse duties as needed, such as maintaining inventory, doing monthly inventory counts, and performing cleaning and disposal procedures
- Perform drum and tote cleaning, inspection and recycling
- Keep detailed and accurate records for Bills of Ladings
- Keep vehicles in good operating condition and keep up with recommended maintenance on company vehicles
- Adhere to and support all safety policies and guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Possession of a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Mechanical aptitude and general knowledge of small hand tools and machinery
- Familiarity with the agricultural industry
- Ability to understand technical properties and functionality of product portfolio
- Ability to work independently and without supervision and effectively plan, organize and execute activities
- Ability and willingness to comply with federal, state, and Company legal and safety standards for operating a motor vehicle
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and move 800 pound drums off of and onto trucks utilizing a drum dolly
- Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT background check
- Ability and willingness to wear proper PPE required for products being transferred or moved
- Ability to physically provide service at customer facilities within a wide range of environments
- Ability to work long hours in the heat of summer and understand the seasonality of agriculture
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to travel locally throughout Central California to perform job duties, as well as the ability and willingness to be away from home for overnight travel on an occasional basis, such as team meetings or trainings
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possession of a valid Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
- Past work experience in agricultural industry
