Job Summary
The primary function of the Account Specialist position is to work in the water treatment industry to maintain and expand the Company's business base by maximizing the profitability of assigned customer accounts. The Account Specialist will use their technical knowledge about the water treatment industry to recommend and apply basic water treatment applications and solutions, as well as communicate program results to Company's regional managers and customers.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Project professional image of Company through positive attitude, punctual and reliable attendance at all appointments
- Follow all legal safety regulations, as well as procedures set forth by both Company and customer
- Participate in delivery and installation of systems at customer sites
- Work onsite at customer locations to provide routine, day-to-day service to determine water treatment program is operating within optimal ranges
- Check, clean and adjust equipment; document findings and analysis of conditions in detailed report
- Local travel is expected and ongoing; travel approximately 3-4% outside of assigned region
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge in order to provide sound water treatment recommendations to customers
- Conduct business reviews, place and manage orders, manage customer pricing, and be the general face of the Company to an assigned customer base
- Adhere to and support all safety policies and guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical/analytical aptitude
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team and exhibit leadership skills
- Advanced problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn and possess knowledge of Company product portfolio and application uses
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to learn new operating systems
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) or equivalent skills
- Hold valid driver's license and abide by company standards for operating motor vehicle
- Be able to physically provide service at customer facilities within a wide range of environments
- Must attend Company's required safety trainings
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Past work experience in technical sales and/or service in industrial water treatment or specialty chemical industry
