The primary functions of the Shipping and Receiving Clerk are to prepare and ship products in a timely manner and receive products into inventory after verification with purchase orders. Job Summary
The primary functions of the Shipping and Receiving Clerk are to prepare and ship products in a timely manner and receive products into inventory after verification with purchase orders. This position offers a great opportunity for an individual to learn the ins and outs of our business and gain knowledge and experience that will allow them to move into other departments and advance within our company!
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Package finished parts and prepare them for shipment to our customers (sometimes in a clean room environment)
- Receive parts from vendors and put them into inventory
- Enter shipping & inventory data into the computer system
- File part certification forms properly
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory as needed
- Answer shipping and receiving doors to accept deliveries
- Pull materials from inventory and update the computer system for jobs in progress
- Maintain a backorder log of inventory needed for jobs in progress
- Follow production schedule to ensure on-time deliveries and follow up on late or missing jobs
- Willing to cross-train and backfill for others as required
- Work overtime when required to support customer and vendor demand
- Clean and maintain work area
- Adhere to and support all safety policies and guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted and over 50 pounds with assistance
- Able to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDSs)
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of and ability to wear personal protective equipment necessary for duties performed
- Able to work independently with minimal instruction and supervision; effectively plan, organize and execute own activities
- Flexible and adaptable by nature; works well under pressure and within changing environments
- Able to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with customers, vendors, and team members
- Currently possession or ability to obtain a state motor vehicle operator's permit for operation of a forklift
- 1-3 years of related experience
