Description
Purpose:
The Press Brake Operator/Setup is responsible for day-to-day execution of sheet metal fabrication to ensure timely completion of jobs, parts built to customer specification, which most parts are 18” Ga to16” Ga, under 24” Ga and a safe workplace.
Responsibilities:
- Setup and operate machines to make parts for apg to use in assembling cash drawers. Machines include press brakes, spot welders, panel benders and punches
- Maintain established quality levels and checks
- Maintain the equipment and work area
- Must have strong communications skills
- Must be fluent in reading drawings
- Must be a team player
- Ensure maximum utilization of equipment in the area and adherence to the schedule
- Follow all Safety Program policies rules and procedures
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to stand for most of shift
- Ability to use measurement and inspection equipment as needed, calipers, rulers and computer aided measuring equipment
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds consistently
- Communication proficiency, able to speak, read and understand English language
- Setup experience in one or more machines
- Setup experience in one or more press brake
- Proficient in reading/using measuring equipment: tape measure, caliper, square, and understands mathematics to very job requirements, specs and maintain quality controls
- Ability to work in a team
Requirements:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent
- 2-5 years working experience in assembly manufacturing.
- Salvagnini experience a plus
- Programming experience a plus
