Description
PURPOSE
The Production Scheduler is tasked with supplying work and information to Customer Relations, Assembly, Parts, FMS (sheet metal fabrication team) and Paint Line. They are expected to track and use the capacity of each of those teams to ensure timely completion of jobs. They are responsible for the depth and stability of the current production schedule and distributing the schedule. They will also be tasked with tracking metrics for the different lines/areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ASSEMBLY AND PARTS SCHEDULES
• Review and run parts availability for upcoming jobs
• Release work order travelers to assembly/parts
• Facilitate daily production meeting
FMS SCHEDULE
• Learn current FMS scheduling methods, change as appropriate and develop a published schedule
• Release work order travelers to FMS
• Recommend outsourcing when needed (outsourcing executed by Materials Supervisor)
• Develop and track metrics for FMS efficiency by working with FMS Supervisor
• Track and communicate available capacity when known to other departments for utilization
PAINT LINE SCHEDULE
• Learn current paint line scheduling methods, change as appropriate and develop a published schedule
• Release work order travelers to paint line
• Follow current and develop new metrics for tracking paint line efficiency
• Track and communicate available capacity when known to other departments for utilization
NEW QUOTE/ORDER SHIP DATES
• Process and release web orders
• Use available capacity to slot in new work for assembly and parts
• Provide lead times to customer relations on open quotes/orders
• Assist in running expedites, quotes, and new orders as received from Customer Relations
ELECTRONIC RECORDS AND REPORTING
- Send out daily and weekly reports
- Publish and distribute production schedule
- Documents information for analysis and planning- downtime, peak capacity, and scheduling accuracy
- Use and update ERP system and other databases
- Retain records of work orders and supporting documents
- Work with engineering on released documents and parts
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent minimum
• Associate degree preferred
• 3-5 years working experience in manufacturing, scheduling, or production at a similar organization
• Experience with Visual ERP system a plus
