Job Summary
The motivated and detail-oriented Junior Purchasing Agent will assist in the sourcing, purchasing, and management of goods and services for the company. This individual will have excellent organizational skills, a strong ability to communicate effectively, and a desire to learn and grow within the field of procurement.
Essential Functions
- Assist in the purchasing process by researching suppliers, obtaining quotes, and comparing product options.
- Place purchase orders based on inventory needs, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve any order discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and inventory movements.
- Help in evaluating suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery performance.
- Support the preparation of reports related to purchasing activities and inventory status.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, budgets, and quality standards in all purchasing transactions.
- Provide administrative support to the purchasing department as needed.
- Others reporting duties or tasks assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field recommended/ not required (or equivalent work experience).
- Basic understanding of purchasing, procurement, and supply chain processes preferred. Previous experience in purchasing or an administrative role is a plus.
- Familiarity with ERP systems or purchasing software is a plus.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with procurement software is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow in the purchasing field.
Physical / Mental Demands
