Due to continued growth, we are actively seeking a Design Lead to support our Design Team in Orlando, FL. As a Design Lead, you will support the design department and personnel, review all design work, write and implement design procedures, train the design staff, and work closely with the Project Managers, Designers, and Field Personnel.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Responsible for the review of Designers’ work, including submittals, fabrication lists, and fabrication drawings.
- Produce and implement design department Standard Operating Procedures.
- Delegate design work to the designers and attend all design turnover meetings.
- Responsible for preparing and conducting performance reviews of the design staff.
- Conduct and moderate the monthly conference calls for Design Managers of all offices.
- Design fire sprinkler systems and produce shop drawings and fabrication lists as well as submittal packages, drawings, hydraulic calculations, product submittals, and project closeouts.
- Attend weekly operations meetings and project management meetings.
- Schedule fabrication with outside vendors and inside resources.
- Assist Project Manager and / or salesman with change orders, billings, WIP’s, and phasing.
- Review design, layout, and hydraulic calculations prior to submittal.
