What You Will Do:
The Sales Engineer is the front end of a focused team which supports our growing sales and design efforts. This position requires an independent thinker with strong time management skills and excellent communication skills and is responsible for partnering with our sales team and customers, responding to queries and providing quotes for our standard shell & tube heat exchanger product line and low specification engineered to order shell & tube heat exchangers. The ideal candidate possesses a combination of technical expertise, commercial aptitude and customer relationship skills. Key responsibilities include:
- Using knowledge of heat transfer and mechanical aspects of heat exchangers, assist customers in defining BASCO standard shell & tube units which meet their heat transfer needs and requirements.
- Thermal design of engineered to order shell & tube heat exchangers for projects requiring low level of customer project specifications.
- Evaluate shell and tube heat exchanger performance with respect to heat transfer and fluid flow as required.
- Define price positions and generate customer quotes based on defined pricing policies, pricing tools and competitive situation.
- Interact with direct customers, independent sales representatives and API Heat Transfer Sales Managers as necessary including follow up activities to facilitate the award of new business.
- Work closely with other departments and the plant to ensure units are delivered on time and meet all customer requirements.
- Order entry and definition of mechanical attributes of sold heat exchangers for downstream design engineering and manufacturing activities.
- Participate in Engineering and New Product Initiative activities.
- Maintain accurate quotation data metrics within our MRP and/or CRM systems.
- Work with the Sales team to promote company products to potential and existing customers.

What You Bring:
- BS in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering preferred or Mechanical/Chemical Engineering Technology degree.
- 1-5 years related work experience in related industry.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and sales proposals.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Pay Range: Min $70,000 - Max $80,000
