Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Security & Low Voltage Technician to oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of advanced security and low voltage systems. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both team members and clients. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in security system installation and low voltage wiring, with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship in alignment with best practices and customer requirements.
Unqualified candidates will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities System Installation & Commissioning
- Expertly wire and trim out head-end access control panels, ensuring a clean and professional installation.
- Install and commission video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercom, and low voltage systems with precision and attention to detail.
- Interpret and understand floor plans and wiring schematics to ensure accurate installation.
- Install various door hardware, including panic devices, vertical rods, magnetic locks, transfer hinges, cylindrical and mortise locks, and auto operators.
Leadership & Team Coordination
- Lead and mentor a team of technicians, providing guidance on field device installations and panel trimming.
- Train apprentice technicians, sharing knowledge to build team competency.
- Coordinate project activities with subcontractors, manufacturers, and company personnel, ensuring seamless execution.
- Maintain a positive work attitude, strong work ethic, and a team-centric mindset.
Client & Project Communication
- Communicate daily job specifics with customers and Project Managers, both verbally and in writing.
- Deliver technical training and guidance to clients and team members.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including service tickets and timesheets.
- Interface with manufacturers to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience installing and commissioning access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, intercom, and low voltage systems.
- Certification or experience with: Lenel, IPro (formerly Panasonic), Verkada, RS2, Avigilon, Bosch, Hanwha, Axis, Brivo, Allegion, ASSA Abloy (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Strong oral, written, and listening communication skills.
- Willingness to adapt to various work shifts to meet customer requirements.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
