As a Low Voltage/Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing cable infrastructure in a low voltage environment. The ideal candidate will be able to meet the physical demands of the worksite as well as provide excellent customer service. Performing maintenance on existing cabling systems. Testing newly installed or relocated cables according to company specifications. Identifying and removing redundant cabling

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Technician will be responsible for the proper installation, maintenance and optimal performance of equipment associated with Surveillance and Access Control, Audio/Visual Systems, Cabling Services, Wireless system, and related applications.

  • Installation of Category 5e, 6, RG 6 Coax and fiber optic cabling
  • Rack mounting equipment.
  • Installation of Access Points, Set Top Boxes, Coax Splitters and such.
  • Testing and troubleshooting cable.
  • Pulling new cables (Data, RF, Power and Fiber)
  • Proper routing and supporting of RF, data and fiber cables (J-hook installation, wire and fiber managements constructs)
  • Installing Conduit runs through walls, through floors/ceilings and in trenches.
  • Proper grounding of equipment, conduits, and support rack
  • audio/visual installation
  • Wired and wireless network connectivity, troubleshooting and installation.
  • Access Point installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Maintain and troubleshoot security systems data cable network and equipment and install/relocate security systems hardware and other accessories.
