Job Title: Dietician
Location: California, KY
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate Dietician to join our Team. The Dietician serves as a consultant providing dietary education, nutritional counseling, and assistance in developing individualized plans for clients. The Dietitian will analyze client’s health status, goals and dietary restrictions, tracking clients’ dietary intake and progress.
Professional Credentials
- Current certificate of registration as a Registered Dietician issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or eligibility for the same (required prior to start date).
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with concentration in human nutrition or a related field
- Minimum two years’ clinical experience (preferred)
- Keeping up to date with scientific nutritional studies while conducting independent research and evaluating program effectiveness.
- Developing, testing, and evaluating food and nutrition products, sometimes acting as a company representative, or supplying product information to health professionals.
- Responsible for purchasing and ordering food.
- Responsible for monthly stock intake.
- Provides dietary consults to clients.
- Receives referrals from the treatment teams and reviews appropriateness of specialty diets given medical necessity.
- Communicates effectively with Food Services personnel to work within the menu options available.
- Consults with Food Services personnel on menu development.
- Upholds all HIPAA, OSHA, and PREA requirements.
- Respects the dignity and confidentiality of clients.
- Attends mandatory staff meetings and trainings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Clinical Knowledge: Possesses understanding of assessment and intervention skills, specifically evidence-based practices. Implementation of these skills is done in a professional manner.
- Problem-Solving: The ability to identify a problem, or to identify situations that could lead to problems, in an effort to intervene quickly and effectively. This may not involve resolving the issue alone, only recognizing the problem, and demonstrating sound judgment by gathering and analyzing information
- Critical Reasoning: Excellent observation skills and the ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions, as well as extracting themes or patterns from seemingly unrelated pieces of information
- Communication: Ability to convey complicated clinical and professional information to various audiences, in both written and oral form. Understanding the context in which information exists, and the ability to temper opinions diplomatically, all in an effort to model mature, positive, and appropriate behavior. Written communication is edited for spelling and grammar, and presents numerical and scientific data appropriately in clear, concise, and accurate manner.
