The Superintendent must have civil site construction experience.
Rate of pay will be based on experience.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Arrive at work on time (7:00 am) every day.
- Arrive to work with all required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, vest, gloves, durable pants, boots).
- Monitors and enforces OSHA and Company policy safety requirements daily, communicating and enforcing safety procedures and site rules.
- Oversee all phases of a construction project.
- Requests information and follows through with a timely response.
- Prepares work schedules and assignments.
- Collaborates with other staff to create preconstruction estimates and budgets for materials and labor.
- Coordinates and schedules the work activities of professionals and laborers.
- Regularly inspects work for quality and timeliness; prepares and provides progress reports to owners. Performs daily visual verification that jobs executed on assigned sites is of the highest quality.
- Proficiency in rapid site assessment for issues that could be detrimental to positive production and profitability.
- Ensures specifications and regulations outlined in engineering plans are followed.
- Oversee all phases of a construction project.
- Prepares work schedules and assignments.
- Displays a diplomatic and positive relationship with clients, vendors, subcontractors, inspection teams, subordinates, and supervisors.
- Maintains a high-level performance under pressure, a calm and authoritative attitude in all instances.
- Ensure all work is completed according to project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Supervise and manage the performance of project teams, including training and evaluating staff.
- Must have knowledge and experience in civil construction, managing dirt, pipe, base, and service crews.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles.
- Very well detail oriented.
- Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans.
- Understanding of quality building practices.
- Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them.
- Clean driving record.
