What are the responsibilities and job description for the Busser/Food Runner position at Aplaya Kitchen + Tiki Bar?
Primary Purpose: To enhance the guest experience by keeping restaurant clean and orderly. Assisting servers with clean up during and after service.
Key Functions:
1) Assisting servers in keeping tables bussed
2) Bussing tables quickly after service and making tables available as quickly.
3) Running and clearing bus tubs
4) Keeping bar and server stations stocked with ice and back up inventory
5) Assists Host with stock and restroom checks
Basic Duties:
Proactively greets guests
Keeps a clean and organized work station(s)
Removes dishes and glass from tables when necessary
Has awareness of server needs and host duties and assists when available
Communicates with other hosts to let them know when tables are ready to seat
Clears tables after guests depart and gets tables ready to reseat
Keeps floors under tables and surrounding areas well swept
Run bus tubs to the dish pit, assisting dish by separating linens
Refills ice bins for server and bar before and throughout service
Regular wiping down tables and keeps floor looking great
Aware of paper stock and where it goes, assists staff in keeping stock
Assists our bar staff with cutting garnish or refilling bar product
Conducts regular bathroom checks every 30 minutes
Keeps and eye on customers water level and refills waters
Greets customers warmly welcoming them
Wear proper uniform e.g., safe closed toe shoes, hair ties, etc.
Maintains professional conduct at all times, this includes language
Use of cell phones is prohibited
Show up for shifts on time and exhibits a friendly and positive attitude

Pay: From $6.75 per hour
