Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for a Telemetry position in Lubbock, TX. This is a 13-week contract opportunity for a night shift position, with shifts running from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The ideal candidate will have experience in telemetry nursing, providing high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess patients’ vital signs and heart rhythms using telemetry equipment.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding care plans and medical procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in patient conditions.
- Document all patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the hospital stay.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas or compact state.
- At least 1 year of experience in telemetry nursing.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Ability to interpret and understand telemetry strips.
- Strong critical thinking, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
