Job Title - Electro-mechanical Design Readiness Engineer (Robotics)

Key Responsibilities:
Being a key team member working on design readiness of the mechanical and electromechanical sub-systems of a surgical robotic system
Develop assembly build processes and in-line testing strategies for complex electromechanical sub-assemblies including software elements
Identify and create the requirements and specifications for build and in-line test fixtures, and support the fixture development and characterization
Develop DMR documents such as build process flow diagrams, assembly work and instructions, in-line and final test protocols, test reports, failure analyses, and system documentation
Support troubleshooting and root cause investigations of electromechanical subsystems using established methodologies with thorough documentation of the analyses.
Create testing protocols and verification plans for test and manufacturing process and manage implementation
Create and maintain structured BOM s for individual sub-systems and overall system
Analyze and recommend design refinements for DFx such as reliability, testability, and manufacturability.
Support fixture and process validation
Support a variety of multi-disciplinary technical and process improvement projects of different sizes and scopes
Support creation of DHF and release of documentation to quality system
Manage and communicate assigned projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams
Qualifications:
8 years electromechanical R&D engineering experience, at least 5 years in medical device required
Bachelor s degree in Mechanical/ Robotics/ Mechatronics/Advanced Manufacturing Engineering or a close field is required
Deep understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing), DFA (Design for Assembly), and DFT (Design for testing) required.
Must have previous experience in design transfer/product launch of complex systems
Experience in the design and development of electromechanical test fixtures
Build configuration management experience
Experience with systems engineering and familiarity with SW and EE
In-depth knowledge and experience in transferring design to manufacturing is required
Outstanding documentation and communication skills required
Experience with consumables is a plus
Experience in managing engineering projects required
Able to execute assigned projects and duties with minimal supervision
Proficiency in using MS Office and Solidworks required
