Overview
Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a SATCOM Systems Administrator.
The System Administrator performs daily systems analysis, customer and contractor training, systems administration, and hardware maintenance. The System Administrator also performs daily analysis of systems and database management and configuration of Operating Systems, Software Applications, Active Directory (AD) domain, and databases specific to Wideband Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Operations and Technical Support (WSOTS). Performs analysis of Risk Management Framework (RMF) Information Assurance (IA) security requirements of complex DoD computer systems.
This is a full-time position located in Wahaiwa, HI.
Responsibilities
- Performs performance analysis on Operating Systems including Windows 2012/16 Server and Windows 7/10.
- Provides administration support to site SIPR and NIPR network communication systems.
- Performs daily review of audit, security, and application logs and identifies problem areas or trends and takes the proper action and generates required reports.
- Performs hardware maintenance, documents deficiencies affecting performance or effectiveness: Dell Servers, RAID disk configurations, PCs, and CISCO networking hardware, WANs and LANs.
- Experience with Account management, PKI cert management, LDAP configuration/management.
The System Administrator staff will be required to provide coverage for 24/7/365 support, following a 12-hour shift schedule. The expected split will be 30% dayshift and 70% shiftwork.
Qualifications
Minimum Experience:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret level clearance.Certifications: CompTIA Security within 90 days of hireEducation: High School DiplomaYears of Experience: 5 years of SATCOM experience within DoD/Military domainsAdditional Experience:
- Experience maintaining access to SIPR/NIPR networks
- Experience in the management of computer networks with skills particular to the administration of a Windows and AD domain environment
- Demonstrated ability to work and grow in a dynamic, fast paced, team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated self-starter; efficient in achieving goals and proactive in pursuing subsequent tasks
- Experience in the use of IT tools for managing and troubleshooting complex computer networks
Preferred Qualifications:Education: Associates Degree or higher
Additional Experience:
- Experience in conducting performance analysis on: (1) Application Software: Common Network Planning System (CNPS), Solar Winds, and (2) Network Protocols: TCP/IP, FTP, and SNMP
- Experience maintaining firewall rule sets and related parameters, Intrusion Detection Software (IDS), reviewing audit logs, and taking required corrective action when an intrusion is detected
- Versed in following reconfiguration, analyzes satellite and network performance to confirm the effectiveness of the reconfiguration and identify anomalies
- Experience with Cisco products and virtualization tools and implementation
- Security administration experience in support of RMF requirements
- Working knowledge of RMF and cybersecurity requirements
- Previous experience supporting DoD/government customers
- Experience with continuous integration, build management, and/or automated test frameworks
- Hardware/software requirement verification/system validation experience
- Scripting experience (Bash/Shell, Python, Perl)
