What are the responsibilities and job description for the MEDICAL - Clerical Support Staff - (Full-Time) position at Apogee Physicians?
Apogee Physicians is a hospitalist practice that is physician founded and physician led. Quite simply, we are our doctors. Our practice is guided by the fundamental knowledge that “what’s best for the patient is best for the practice”. Our group is rapidly growing and is currently hiring administrative support for our physicians in a hospital setting.
Hiring for 1 full-time position 4:30 am- 12:30 pm (Rotating weekends/holidays)
The Apogee Patient Information Coordinator-Extended Touch is a multi-faceted position. This is an Administrative/Clerical position. The basic requirements include experience as a Medical Assistant, Unit Coordinator, ER Tech, or similar position. We require computer literacy, proficiency in medical terminology, familiarity with ICD 10 and CPT codes, the ability to interact with patients and physicians, organizational skills, and the ability to consistently follow up.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Daily Extended Touch patient visits
- Ability to handle PICs day-to-day duties
- Assist with Educating hospital staff regarding Extended Touch program
- Help ensure Apogee expectations for productivity, quality, and goals are met
- Monitor, communicate and update any information regarding the PIC Extended Touch
- Prepare reports for management
- HCAHPS report on program smart sheet
- Doctor Detail Extended Touch Report (FV/LV)
- Extended Touch Report
- Reports upon request
- Communicate with management through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, emails, and conference calls.
- Motivate and inspire PDs, Physicians, NPs, PAs, and management
- Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
- Interaction with local physicians and hospital administration in an effort to grow our practice

Qualifications/Aptitudes:
- Experience as a Medical Assistant, Unit Coordinator, ER Tech, or similar position
- Excellent Customer Service Skills; conflict resolution skills; ability to react quickly and appropriately
- Must be proactive, responsive and resourceful; outstanding organizations and planning skills professional and calm manner
- Skill using Microsoft Office products
- Strong communication, interpersonal and writing skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to prioritize and maintain several activities simultaneously
- Self-motivate with little supervision or direction and ability to function well under pressure
- Incredible attention to detail and accuracy
- Familiarity with ICD 10 and CPT codes (preferred)
- Up-to-date Immunizations (required)
- Covid Vaccination (required)
- Capability to bend and lift at least 25lbs
- Could be prolonged standing or walking up to 50% or more of the workday
- Organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information, including patient data
- Typing/writing 75% of the day (required)
- Frequently lift and/ or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds'
