Job Description
Role Overview
The Windows Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows-based systems and infrastructure. This role involves ensuring system security, optimizing performance, and providing technical support to end users and IT teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and workstations.
* Manage Active Directory (AD), Group Policies, and user account administration.
* Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply patches or updates.
* Ensure system security through antivirus, firewalls, and vulnerability management.
* Manage backups, disaster recovery, and system restoration procedures.
* Configure and maintain network services (DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
* Implement and support virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
* Support cloud-based Windows environments (Azure, AWS) when applicable.
* Maintain system documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
* Provide technical support and assist with IT infrastructure projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Windows Administrator or in a similar role.
* Knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Windows 10/11.
* Experience managing Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, and DHCP.
* Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation.
* Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
* Understanding of cloud-based environments (Azure, AWS) is a plus.
* Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
* Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Excellent communication and documentation skills.
