LPN Medication nurse needed every other weekend
Apollo Behavioral Health Hospital, newly constructed in 2018 - state of the art facility conveniently located at 9938 airline highway in the heart of the city at the intersection of I-12 and Airline Hwy.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides skilled nursing care to patients as directed by the registered nurse and physician's plan of care in accordance with hospital policy.
- Promotes and maintains patient health through teaching and appropriate rehabilitative measures under the guidance of the registered nurse
- Dispenses medication under the direction of the registered nurse and according to physician orders
- Dictates and writes progress notes for one to one & group sessions in accordance with policies and procedures
- Advises Director of Nursing/Administrator of any risk management activities in order to reduce or eliminate patient/staff/visitor injuries, illnesses, death, and/or financial loss.
Skills Needed:
- Organizes and prioritizes work while being cost-effective and conserving resources
- Should be able to work with multi-disciplinary team
- Able to tolerate high stress and high volume of work
- Organized and self-disciplined
- Thorough documentation
- Utilizes listening skills that indicate understanding and promotes accurate interpretation of other's concerns, motivations, and feelings
- Works toward resolution of interpersonal conflicts as they arise
Education/Experience/License required:
- License Practical Nurse. Psychiatric experience preferred
- CPR and CPI must be maintained
