HIGH SCHOOL ENGLISH/LANGUAGE ARTS TEACHER
STARTING DATE: August 2025
REPORTS TO: Assistant Principal
SALARY RANGE: • $40,600 – $60,100, based on appropriate salary schedule, commensurate with
education and experience

WORK WEEK/YEAR: 183-day school year calendar
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • possess, or ability to obtain, valid Ohio certification/licensure in
English/Language Arts (7-12)
- positive role model for youth
- dedicated to helping students develop high levels of academic competency
- effective communication and collaborative skills
- ability to create a supportive classroom environment that encourages student
engagement, success and independence
- skilled at bridging differences and fostering mutual respect to create a cohesive,
effective learning environment
- ability to pass BCI and FBI background checks
- ability to work as a school improvement team member
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • excellent organizational and human relation skills
- ability to plan and develop an instructional program in English/Language Arts
- ability to collaborate with English/Language Arts department staff
RESPONSIBILITIES: • develop an English/Language Arts curriculum and teach high school youth
