Position Overview
Apollo is seeking a strong Analyst to join its highly entrepreneurial Commercial Real Estate Debt team in New York. Apollo’s Commercial Real Estate Debt team provides fixed and floating rate first mortgage and subordinate financing, including mezzanine and preferred equity investments, on behalf of multiple investment vehicles such as a public mortgage REIT, insurance companies and managed funds. Since 2009, the team has deployed over $100 billion of capital and finances a broad spectrum of property types across the U.S. and Europe (pre-construction, construction, bridge, and stabilized loans for single assets and portfolios).
The Real Estate Debt Analyst will be responsible for all investment activities including deal sourcing, evaluation, diligence, execution, and asset management. This is a high-impact role that offers the right candidate an opportunity to leverage Apollo’s integrated platform and resources while playing a critical part in the ongoing growth of the team and its commercial real estate portfolio.

$115,000-125,000

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Primary Responsibilities
- Drive analytical and project support for all investment activities; construct financial models, sensitivity analyses, comparable analyses, and other discrete financial analyses as well as financial and asset due diligence and industry research
- Conduct property and market due diligence with travel as required
- Participate in deal closings, including the review and negotiation of legal documentation
- Communicate with external partners and due diligence advisors such as sponsors, brokers, attorneys, investors, and third-party consultants during deal transaction
- Work with asset management team to monitor existing investments on an on-going basis
- Develop investment committee memoranda
- Assist in the day-to-day tasks of the group including the creation of presentations, excel spreadsheets, databases, etc. on an ad hoc basis
- Bachelor’s degree from an undergraduate institution, preferably in Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
- 1-2 years of experience in real estate investment banking, commercial real estate lending/CMBS, principal investing, and/or brokerage
- Ability to meaningfully contribute to strategic dialogue and collaborate effectively with investment teams, attorneys, brokers and borrowers
- Demonstrates strong investment judgment by ability to identify potential risks and find solutions to roadblocks throughout all stages of a deal
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills to support communication with external counterparties
- Excels in a rigorous and fast-paced team-oriented work environment
