Position Overview
Strategy at Apollo is responsible for leading the firm’s most significant growth and value creation opportunities, including strategic M&A, new product and new market innovation, and data and next gen technology investing. The team partners closely with Apollo’s CEO, leadership, and senior business heads to identify and execute on high-return opportunities that enhance Apollo’s growth trajectory and extend its position as an innovator in the industry. As a member of the COO team, you will play a key role in strategic execution, financial oversight and driving operational efficiency to ensure the Strategy organization operates effectively and delivers on its priorities.
This role provides a unique opportunity to work closely with the Head of Strategy and COO, as well as other senior leaders across Apollo. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and an exceptional communicator, capable of tracking key initiatives, optimizing business operations, and providing financial insights that drive decision-making. Primary Responsibilities
- Strategic Execution & Leadership Support: Provide direct support to the Head of Strategy and COO, preparing materials for senior leadership meetings, tracking key initiatives, and ensuring follow-through on strategic priorities.
- Financial Analysis & Performance Monitoring: Partner with Finance to track forecasts, budgets, and KPIs across Apollo’s product verticals and strategic investments. Produce customized financial reports for key stakeholders.
- Operational Oversight & Process Optimization: Establish and maintain routines, tracking mechanisms, and reporting frameworks to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Strategy Organization.
- Strategy Prioritization & Execution: Maintain and manage the Strategy priority list, supporting execution across both day-to-day operations and longer-term strategic initiatives.
- Ad Hoc Projects & Special Initiatives: Assist with high-priority projects for the Head of Strategy, COO, and other Apollo business leaders, ensuring seamless execution of key initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Office, CPS, Finance, and operational teams to drive key initiatives and support firmwide growth strategies.
- 3-7 years of relevant work experience, ideally in financial planning & analysis, consulting, business development, or a related field.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex topics into concise, actionable insights (Smart Brevity).
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and cost management.
- Familiarity with setting and tracking KPIs, operational goals, and performance metrics.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to support financial analysis and executive-level presentations.
- Outstanding time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Problem-solver with an entrepreneurial mindset, able to thrive in a rigorous, results-oriented team setting.
