Reports To: PRINCIPAL/BUILDING LEADER

*Location: VARIES BASED ON ASSIGNMENT

Compensation: Commensurate with salary range on the DCPS Salary Schedule for class code 7783

Hours Per Day: Varies based on assignment

Contracted Days: Varies based on assignment

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

· High school diploma, G.E.D. certificate, or satisfactory progress toward G.E.D.

· Demonstrate and/or develops skills related to operation of the computer.

 

Knowledge Of:

· Proficient computer skills including use of mouse and keyboard to navigate computer, e-mail, and websites.

· Applicable systems and software.

· Subject matter in area of assignment.

· Short and long-range planning techniques applicable to area of specialty.

· In-service materials, subject matter and methods in area of specialty.

· Record-keeping techniques including filing.

· Oral and written communication skills including English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary.

· Telephone techniques and etiquette.

· Laws, rules and regulations related to assigned activities.

· Policies and objectives of assigned program and activities.

· Technical aspects of field of specialty.

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

Perform routine typing and general clerical activities in support of a school or district function.

 

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:

· Utilize a computer, software, and web-based systems to complete daily tasks.

· Observes system operations and determines whether programs appear to be operating correctly.

· Analyzes potential problems and takes corrective action where called for or seeks assistance from system programmer where causes of problems are not apparent.

· Performs procedures required for system backup, including copying system files, checkpoints, message logs, etc.

· Routinely create and edit electronic documents using systems such as Microsoft and Google Suites.

· Follow procedures to verify and compute data.

· Maintains sequence and control of source documents.

· Recognizes and corrects errors in original entry data prior to processing.

· Recognizes deficiencies in source documents, and returns them for correction.

· Receives and routes all incoming communication in appropriate manner.

· Plans and completes work on a timely basis to meet timelines.

· Works effectively with school staff members.

· Exercises good judgement in decision making, good character, and maintains confidentiality.

· Demonstrates loyalty and dedication to the purposes and goals of the Daviess County Public Schools.

· Maintains an organized work area.

· Continually strives to grow professionally.

Evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of classified personnel. The evaluation will be conducted by the School Principal/Building Leader.
