Job Description :
- The MBE / WBE Certification Specialist must develop expertise in the statutes, regulations, policies, and legal decisions that would impact how applications are analyzed. This position requires a high level of professionalism and objectivity to ensure that only qualified enterprises gain access to program resources.
- The MBE / WBE Certification Specialist must possess excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to review and to interpret complex business information. The MBE / WBE Certification Specialist must be familiar with State procurement methods and be able to relay that information to a widely varied audience.
- The MBE / WBE Certification Specialist is responsible for the frugal consumption of the State's resources as it relates to the use of a State vehicle and credit cards and reimbursable travel expenses should the need for travel arise.
- This is a position of trust and requires the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality due to the types of personal and financial information submitted to the program. A high degree of accuracy is required to ensure that certification applications are processed correctly and efficiently. Dedication to continued improvement of program policies and practices is mandatory.
