Position Overview Position Overview: Apollo is looking for a Senior Compliance Officer to join its Compliance team to oversee the investment compliance practice for the firm. The Senior Compliance Officer will manage a team of professionals and be responsible for the design, creation, and maintenance of controls for investment compliance, including overseeing day-to-day advisory work related to investments made by Apollo, and the funds it manages, across the firm’s various private equity, real assets, and credit strategies. The role is responsible for staying abreast of new regulatory developments in investment compliance and for providing project management leadership in implementing compliance with such regulations. The Senior Compliance Officer will partner closely with investment teams, as well as with senior stakeholders across Operations, Risk, Finance and Technology. The candidate should have an entrepreneurial spirit, possess strong leadership skills, and take a hands-on approach to everyday activities. Primary Responsibilities: Provide senior direction and oversight for compliance controls related to the firm’s investment activities Manage the team responsible for handling firm trading, the Restricted List, cross and principal trades, trade surveillance and back testing, MNPI analyses, conflicts analyses, allocations, best execution, and expert network and alternative data issues Advise investment teams on compliance considerations with respect to the investment activities of both the firm and the funds it manages, including, regulatory issues, conflicts/allocation issues, and AML and sanctions risk Chair governance committees overseeing allocations and investment-related practices Participate in the firm’s Reputational Risk Committee Review new rules and regulations impacting the firm’s investment-related activities and collaborate with the investment teams, legal, and other control functions to implement new controls, governance, and frameworks to ensure compliance Advise the business regarding potential new private and registered fund products Provide active management, mentorship, and career development guidance to members of the team Participate in internal/external audits of firm’s compliance program Provide regulatory examination support, where necessary Pay Range: $315,000 - $500,000 The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed here. Qualifications & Experience 15 years legal/compliance experience at a financial services firm, alternative asset manager, or law firm Bachelor’s Degree required; Law degree preferred Knowledge of alternative asset managers, financial markets (their operation/mechanics), and securities market regulations (including Advisors Act, 40 Act and FINRA rules) Private fund experience and intimate knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, required Meaningfully contributes to strategic dialogue and collaborates effectively with investment teams & external partners Prior experience managing a team, preferred Ability to collaborate extensively and work in a complex and interconnected business Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal Ability to interact and build relationships with multiple stakeholders High ethical standards and a strong decision-maker; ability to act independently, but also supervise/guide others Ability to think critically and solve challenges with innovative solutions Effectively balance multiple competing/concurrent projects Executes strategy with the appropriate sense of urgency while also maintaining a grasp of the details Enjoys an entrepreneurial, fast paced, constantly evolving business environment Apollo Global Management Inc. is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
