OVERVIEW:
The Quality Manager directs and coordinates the quality control and quality assurance processes and integrates quality into the planning and actions of the client organization. Ensures synergy between quality policy and the overall business objectives, processes and procedures. Serves as the management representative for the ISO 9001 certified quality system.
Will also manage, plan, coordinate and lead the quality control program designed to ensure products/services are compliant with standards, regulation and project requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manages the quality system to comply with, ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and Client Policies and Procedures.
· Serves as the management representative for the ISO 9001 Quality System and is responsible for ensuring a review of the Quality System with the executive management at least once a year.
· Manages overall progress toward meeting the quality objectives defined in the Quality System Management Review.
Reports progress toward meeting these objectives to appropriate management throughout the year.
· Directs the development and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for Client business processes and the associated Department Work Instructions (DWI’s) that define specific tasks. Manages the control, communication, and training associated with the Quality System SOP’s and DWI’s.
· Develops and assures execution of the Quality Plan, including detailed planning of quality support activities such as internal audits, facilitation of Lessons Learned, etc. taking into account project-specific risks
· Ensures that systems and documents such as Quality Matrices, Engineering Specifications and Quality Specifications, and other documents used by the business unit are controlled and maintained. Ensures that documents are updated when applicable industry standards and codes are revised.
· Initiates and leads quality process improvements. Ensures that Quality System and ISO 9001 requirements are met as new tools, methods and systems are implemented. Supports product standardization efforts.
· Manages, supervises and coordinates the QA/QC Team Members to satisfy defined project requirements. Promotes and demonstrates effective and efficient communications between parties involved in the project. Ensures that systems and procedures are in place to manage unplanned events requiring quality support on client projects.
· Budgets and manages the third party inspection costs on Client projects
· Assists with supplier development and supplier performance evaluation using the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) as an evaluation tool.
· Investigate customer complaints regarding quality and make appropriate adjustments.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
· B.S. Degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, environmental management or related field.
· Ten years combined experience in Engineering and Manufacturing, plus experience in Quality Assurance.
Five years quality management experience in oilfield equipment or other heavy industry manufacturing environment.
· Knowledge of Industry Standards Organization (ISO) and American Petroleum Institute (API/Q1) standards, and Total Quality Management skills.
· Must have an understanding of Engineering Principles, Manufacturing Processes, Safety and Environmental Management, and Human Relations Principles.
· Must be familiar with instrumentation used in quality inspection.
· Must have a general knowledge of budget preparation and cost controls.
- · Must have good supervisory skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to interface effectively with internal and external contacts.
Salary : $135,000 - $185,000
