Summary
As the Director of Nursing at Apostolic Christian LifePoints, you will lead our nursing team in delivering exceptional care to our residents. This pivotal role involves overseeing nursing operations, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a culture of excellence in resident care.
Qualifications:
1. Ability to read, write and speak the English language
2. Minimum of twenty-one (21) years of age
3. Registered Nurse, licensed in the state of Illinois. BSN or BS in health related field
4. Minimum three (3) years experience as a nurse in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility
5. Meet and complete (or have completed) Certified RN Nurse Trainer Curriculum through the Department of Human Services/Illinois
6. Functions independently, demonstrates personal integrity and has the ability to work effectively with residents, administrative personnel, consultants, vendors, and others

2. Follow the safety requirements for agency and department.
3. Respect the rights and dignity of residents.
4. Retrieve and record data in the electronic charting system
5. Provide medical case management for the resident and follow up appropriately as an advocate
6. Provide appropriate staff training and monitoring in relation to the Medication Administration Act
Job Responsibilities
1. Assist in the development, administering, and coordinating of program policies and procedures in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern such facilities
2. Participates in surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies
3. Make routine inspections of the facilities to ensure that established policies and procedures are being implemented and followed
4. Assume the authority, responsibility and accountability of directing the day to day operations of the department
5. Seek to standardize the methods in which work will be accomplished among programs and facilities
6. Review and interpret financial statements and provide information as required regarding financial activity
7. Keep abreast of the rules and regulations at state and federal levels pertaining to the programs, residents, and facilities
8. Review and evaluate the department’s work force and make recommendations to the Administrator 9. Assist in interviewing, selection, scheduling and ongoing evaluation of personnel for the department
10. Develop and implement training procedures for new and current employees
11. Monitor personnel to ensure that they follow established policies and procedures 12. Maintain employee files to ensure proper documentation
13. Maintain a working knowledge of current federal, state and other regulatory bodies, as well as professional standards, and make recommendations on changes in policies and procedures to the Administrator
14. Make recommendations regarding equipment, supply, and other facility needs
15. Maintain documentation as appropriate for the department
16. Participate in the Community Support Team/ Interdisciplinary Team as needed
17. Coordinate with other resident services to ensure continuity of the residents’ total regimen of care.
18. Is on call as needed

11. Participate in department meetings and maintain appropriate number of in-service hours
12. Practice safe work habits and report all accidents/incidents to immediate supervisor as soon as they occur and complete required incident report
13. Maintain confidentiality of all resident information to assure resident rights are protected
