Summary
As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with developmental disabilities and autism in their daily activities. This position is essential to our mission of promoting independence and improving the quality of life for those we serve.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct assistance to individuals in daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Assist clients in social interactions and community engagement activities.
- Monitor client progress and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety protocols, including first aid when necessary.
- Support clients in achieving their personal goals and enhancing their independence.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client care and progress as required.
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving.
- Knowledge of first aid practices and emergency response procedures.
- Ability to develop and implement effective care plans based on individual needs.
- Experience in social work or related fields is a plus but not required.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
