Position Summary:
The Nursing Assistant Manager oversees and supports the daily operations of nursing assistants within the healthcare facility. This position is responsible for ensuring that nursing assistants deliver high-quality patient care in compliance with state regulations, facility policies, and patient care standards. The Manager plays a vital role in scheduling, training, mentoring, and performance management of nursing assistant staff.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the work of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other support staff.
- Act as a liaison between CNAs, nurses, and administration to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Manage staffing schedules, time-off requests, and shift coverage to maintain adequate coverage for CNA’s and nurses.
- Monitor and evaluate performance; provide feedback, coaching, and disciplinary action as needed.
- Ensure nursing assistant practices meet facility standards and comply with state/federal regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits.
- Assist Director of Nursing/Infection Control Preventionist in providing infection control education and training to staff members.
- Maintain tracking of infection rates, vaccinations of staff and residents, and ordering of vaccinations through pharmacy.
- Investigate and document incidents involving nursing assistants and assist in resolution.

Requirements:Qualifications:
High School Diploma required
Minimum of 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Ability to obtain Nursing home Infection Preventionist Certificate.
Strong knowledge of patient care techniques, infection control, and HIPAA regulations.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work with considerable independence, work under strict time constraints and work efficiently while managing frequent interruptions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and professional communication with coworkers, supervisors, professional staff, students, and members of the public.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or relevant certification preferred.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
CPR/BLS certification.
Prior experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or acute care settings
