What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at APOTHECARY BY DESIGN ACQUISITION CO LLC?
This position will report directly to the CFO and will perform in a hands-on manner to drive discipline, organization, and excellence in all areas of accounting, finance, payroll and contracting for VFP. They will act as a business partner and advisor on corporate strategy and operational effectiveness with an emphasis on financial accounting, reporting, management, and forecasting. The ideal candidate will have proven industry experience as an accountant and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Corporate & Departmental Accounting – manage all aspects of the accounting function, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable,inventory and all account reconciliations
- Financial & Management Reporting – prepare monthly financial statements and assist with monthly and annual financial reporting package, including relevant business KPIs
- Financial Forecasting and Budgeting – assist the CFO with the development and management of the annual corporate and departmental budgets, including monthly variance analysis and overall management to the budget
- External Audit, Tax and Legal – responsible for the coordination of the year-end audits and requests from tax advisors
- Compliance – manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field
- 5-10 years of experience in accounting and finance roles, including leadership positions, preferably with private-equity backed companies and/or in public accounting
- Working knowledge of current US regulations and compliance issues and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license preferred
- Strong understanding of pharmacy and/or pharmacy supply chain preferred
- Previous experience with Intacct preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to convey ideas on complex accounting issues
- Ability to work well with senior executives and team as well as manage/lead other team members
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills, with the ability to multitask
