Summary: Self-motivated, efficient, responsible multitasker to join our team.  Candidate will communicate with patients to effectively provide medications, pull and package prescriptions, bill and charge credit cards and update patient information in the system.  Help in the management of other technician staff and coordinating inventory with the pharmacist.  

 

Education/Experience:

High School Graduate (or equivalent) is required.  Pharmacy Technician for at least 3 to 4 years is required.

Previous experience in pharmacy or other related Healthcare fields.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

  1. Process/navigate prescriptions using computer software quickly and efficiently
  2. Perform high call volume to coordinate patient deliveries.
  3. Keep central pharmacy clean and organized.
  4. Complete insurance verification.
  5. Apply manufacturers coupons if applicable.
  6. Help the pharmacist in queue management to create efficiencies.
  7. Assist in management and training of other pharmacy technicians. 
  8. Actively monitor that proper billing procedures are being implemented.
  9. Have outstanding customer service skills
  10. Be able to work in an independent environment
  11. Take directions and initiatives from Lead Central Technician and DOCO

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Math Ability:

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.   Ability to comprehend and apply principles of basic math while analyzing data and generating reports.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft products

Must have 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience.

Pioneer Software is recommended but not required.
