Job description
Appalachian Hospice, a locally owned hospice provider with offices is Blairsville, Cleveland, Jasper and Calhoun is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Community Liaison in its Cleveland office. This position will cover Lumpkin, Habersham, Dawson and White counties. The following are the job qualifications and responsibilities:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 2 years’ experience in hospice, preferably in Hospice Care Marketing.
- A bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or related field preferred or a Registered Nurse or LPN.
- Ability to market assertively and deal tactfully with customers and the community.
- Knowledge of corporate business management.
- Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility, and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
- Is a Team player.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for all aspects of hospice marketing in assigned territory to include establishing and maintaining positive relationships with customers and referral sources, responding to customer requests and concerns. Additionally, responsibilities include:
- Assists the Administrator in establishing organization volume projections in the annual budget as well as in establishing cost/expense allocations for the marketing department.
- Monitors allocation of resources according to budgeted expectations.
- Continuously works with the Administrator to conduct market assessments and develops a comprehensive marketing plan designed to meet budgetary volume projections.
- Employs marketing and promotional initiatives to consistently meet or exceed minimum monthly hospice admissions to qualify for monthly bonus.
- Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with current and potential referral sources.
- Builds and monitors community, customer, and patient perceptions of Appalachian Hospice as a high-quality provider of services.
- Works with the Administrator in strategic planning including identifying opportunities for additional or improved services to address customer needs.
- Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of Appalachian Hospice markets including government agencies, major payer groups, key referral sources and competitors market positioning.
- Conducts weekly marketing activities including referral source in person visits, luncheons, facility events (i.e., holiday events, etc.)
- Maintains comprehensive working knowledge in the field of marketing and shares information with appropriate organization personnel.
- Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of community resources and assists customers in accessing community resources should services not be provided by Appalachian Hospice.
- Monitors and reports cost effectiveness of marketing efforts.
- Communicates and works well with other team members.

Salary: Base salary based on experience and past performance in addition to monthly and annual bonuses.
