Appalachian Mountain Health ("AMH"), a Federally Qualified Health Center network based in Asheville, NC, is hiring a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our exceptional clinical team at our Sylva location in delivering quality-focused psychiatric primary care services for adult (18 ) patients.

AMH provides comprehensive, accessible, patient-centered primary care to all, including low-income, medically underserved and uninsured populations, at six locations throughout Western North Carolina.

Our Psychiatric NP/PAs work closely with physicians, other advanced practitioners, behavioral health clinicians, and clinical and administrative support staff in a team-based approach to patient care.

Required qualifications include:

  • Physician Assistant /Nurse Practitioner degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current North Carolina PA-C or NP license.
  • Psychiatric CAQ.
  • CPR certification.
  • 2 years of practice experience with an adult population in a public health setting, preferably in a rural or under-served area.
  • Strong commitment to practicing in a community health setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as critical thinking skills, the ability to handle stressful situations and the capacity to function independently.
  • High degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making to achieve AMH's mission.
