Overview
The Inventory Cost Clerk is responsible for performing duties related to maintaining an accurate and up-to-date perpetual inventory.
Responsibilities
- Operates a display terminal to receive and transmit data used for maintaining an accurate perpetual inventory.
- Verifies file maintenance (changes) print-out for price, quantity, number, and description and advises hospitals of changes.
- Prepares daily mail.
- Periodically verifies that records are correct and maintains and updates catalogs, manuals, and lists such as Vendor Minimum, Manufacturer's Code List, Computer Purchasing Manual, Purchasing History Update, and Purchasing Surplus Balance List.
- Prepares requests for supplies.
- Posts and files documents such as stock orders, purchase orders, change in purchase orders, credit memos, transfer memos, and return goods shipping requests and assists in conducting and listing of inventory.
- Processes purchase orders which includes indicating the receipt of material via data entry into the inventory system
- Secures delivery information from expediter.
- Insures that correct nomenclature is used in items removed from and returned to inventory.
- Keeps current files for perpetual inventory ItenvMaster.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma Required
- Up to 1 year Preferred
- Type mnimum of 30 words per minute.
- Ability to operate various business machines.
- Clerical experience and aptitude to pay careful attention to detail, accuracy, and good organizational skills.
- A period of one (1) to three (3) months on-the-job is required to attain proficiency for performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.
