Overview
The Ward Clerk through communication, requisitioning, and management of supplies and equipment, compliments the activities of the nursing staff, patients, physicians, other hospital departments, and visitors. He/She performs general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the Emergency Department.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- High school Diploma or equivalent GED
- Vocational or AS in Secretarial type positions (preferred)
Minimum Work Experience:
2 years experience (preferred)
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.
- Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge is preferred.
- Hospital clerical background is preferred.
- Ability to requisition supplies is preferred.
