Position Overview : The Team Leader is responsible for coordinating patient care, staffing, physician and employee engagement, and patient experience. This includes the delegation of tasks and overseeing the delivery of patient care. The Team Leader assists physicians, the multidisciplinary team, and staff in managing patient care services and assumes administrative duties in the absence of the Patient Care Manager / Director. Compensation is commensurate upon education, experience, certification, and internal equity. Hiring compensation range starts from $33.25 per hour.

  • Compensation : Commensurate upon education & experience - range is $33.25 per hour or more. Benefits begin the first of the month following 60 days of employment from the new hire orientation date. This position is non-exempt.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Coordinate all aspects of patient care, including staffing, physician and employee engagement, and delegation of tasks.
  • Provide direct and indirect nursing care that meets the physical, psychosocial, and restorative needs of patients.
  • Serve as a role model for staff and lead by example in the delivery of patient care.
  • Act as a liaison between the multidisciplinary team, patients, families, and physicians to ensure quality care.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient conditions or emergencies.
  • Demonstrate effective communication with patients, families, visitors, colleagues, and physicians.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, and practice within the scope of your licensure.
  • Maintain a healthy work environment by promoting professionalism and effective delegation.
  • Position Requirements :

    Minimum Education :

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Experience :

  • 2 years of nursing experience.
  • Prior experience demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Required Registration / License / Certification :

  • Current licensure in North Carolina as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required at time of hire.
  • Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS, CCRN, etc.) must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with patients, families, staff, and physicians.
  • Competency in delivering safe and effective patient care within the legal limits of licensure and certifications.
  • Knowledge of the continuum of nursing care provided in the patient care department.
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills to patients, family, staff, and physicians.
  • Physical Demands :

  • Lifts, positions, and transfers up to and greater than 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and mobility.
  • Prolonged sitting / standing / walking.
  • Requires bending, squatting, twisting, and turning.
  • Ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less.
  • Working Conditions :

  • Regular exposure to blood-borne diseases.
  • Frequent exposure to hazards from electrical / mechanical equipment, odorous chemicals, and slippery surfaces.
  • Requires flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Continuous standing and walking for 8 hours per shift.
  • Exposure to vibration, cramped spaces, and ionizing / non-ionizing radiation (e.g., x-ray, microwave).
