The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences in the Beaver College of Health Sciences ( BCHS ) at Appalachian State University invites applications for a pediatric speech-language pathologist to provide clinical services and provide clinical education to graduate students. The primary worksite is the interprofessional Appalachian Institute for Health and Wellness Clinic on the first floor of University Hall in Boone, NC.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Suggested Salary Range $77,000 - 84,000 depending on qualifications
Physical Demands of Position
Must be able to move around a clinic, work with clients in rooms—often on the floor with children, and utilize some computer equipment. No other lifting or physically exerting activity is required.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Patholog ( CCC - SLP )
- Eligibility for North Carolina licensure in speech-language pathology
- Three years experience working with children with speech and language disorders
- One year experience with clinical supervision of graduate students
- NC licensure in speech-language pathology
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence for Speech-Language Pathologists ( CCC - SLP )
- 5 or more years experience in evaluating/treating children with a variety of developmental disorders
- 3 or more years experience with clinical education of graduate students
- experience with AAC evaluation and treatment
- experience with or interest in treatment of language-learning disorders (e.g., dyslexia)
- experience with or interest in early identification of complex disorders (e.g. cerebral palsy, autism)
- experience with or interest in working with adults with developmental disabilities

- Provide clinical education for SLP graduate students.
- Collaborate with other speech-language pathologists and clinicians from other disciplines (occupational therapy, music therapy, social work) in an interprofessional clinical setting.
- Document service provision according to clinic and payor guidelines.
- Opportunities exist for employer-sponsored training to expand clinical expertise.
