Essential Job Functions
These temporary staff will provide summer project assistance to Housing Facilities, in either the Support Services, Housekeeping, or Maintenance areas.
All positions include:
- Communicating with fellow workers, guests, and students in a manner that allows work to be completed and insures harmony and teamwork in the workplace
- Working as part of a team and also independently at times
- Demonstrating knowledge of safety hazards
- Other duties not listed below as assigned by supervisor
Support Services Duties include:
- Moving and inspecting furniture
- Raising, lowering, and inspecting beds and mattresses
- Cleaning items with a pressure washer
Housekeeping Duties include:
- Perform cleaning such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and dusting
- Vacuuming as well as operating floor maintenance equipment, stripping and waxing floors as needed
- Keeping work areas in a clean and orderly condition
Maintenance Duties Include:
- Ability to work around dust, latex paint, and odors.
- Assisting with carpentry, painting, and flooring
- Measuring and calculating square footage of the area being painted and transfer to spreadsheet
- Inspecting painting and drywall work of summer contractors
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience moving and inspecting furniture (Support Services)
- Experience using a pressure washer (Support Services)
- Experience with general building trades (Maintenance)
Work Schedule/Hours
Monday-Friday from 7am-4pm with 1 hour lunch break. There may be opportunities to work on weekends if needed.
Positions start as early as May 19 and end Aug 15, 2025, with availability through move-in preferred.
